St. Johns County has launched The St. Johns County Emergency Rental Assistance program. This federally funded program will help provide rental assistance to residents, who have been financially affected by COVID 19 and are at risk of housing instability.
With rental prices increasing dramatically all over the county, the West Augustine community has been hit hard by the lack of affordable housing and rent increases.
St. Johns County Emergency Rental Assistance Program:
If your household meets all of the following criteria, you may qualify for rental assistance:
- Be a low-to-moderate income St. Johns County residential renter at or below 80% of area median income.
- Be eligible for unemployment benefits or have experienced financial hardship directly or indirectly due to the coronavirus outbreak.
- Can demonstrate a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
Locally, you can go to the Northeast Florida Community Action Agency, which is located at the Solomon Calhoun Center to see, if you qualify for the Covid Rent Relief program or any other help available.
